Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use The Day We Said Goodbye (the “Game”). The Game can be played without creating an account.
1. Information stored on your device
The Game stores story progress, unlocked endings, selected memories, and audio preferences locally on your device. This information is used only to provide game functionality. You can remove it through the in-game reset option or by deleting the Game.
2. Advertising, analytics, and security services
The Game includes third-party advertising and related technologies, including services supplied by Chartboost, Yandex, Vungle/Liftoff, InMobi, AppMetrica, and a security or anti-fraud provider. Depending on configuration, consent, device settings, and the service used, these partners may process information such as:
- device identifiers, including the advertising identifier when permission is granted;
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- advertising data and interactions with advertisements;
- game or product interactions, session information, and diagnostics;
- device, operating system, language, and network information; and
- fraud-prevention and security signals.
These services may use information to deliver and measure advertising, prevent fraud, provide analytics, and maintain service reliability. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy policies and retention practices.
3. App Tracking Transparency
On supported Apple devices, the Game may request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing the advertising identifier or allowing tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. You may deny this request and continue to play the full story. You can change your choice later in the device’s Privacy & Security settings.
4. Network communications
The Game contacts a remote configuration service to obtain advertising placement settings and may communicate with activated advertising and security providers. As with most internet services, the receiving server may automatically receive an IP address and basic request information.
5. Data sharing
Information may be shared with the advertising, analytics, infrastructure, and security providers described above when necessary to operate their services. We do not sell your locally stored story progress. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
6. Data retention and control
Local game data remains on your device until you reset progress or delete the Game. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. You can limit advertising tracking through Apple’s privacy settings, reset local progress inside the Game, or delete the Game to remove its local data.
7. Children’s privacy
The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request names, email addresses, or other direct contact information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with the Game, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
8. International processing
Advertising and security providers may process information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where required, those providers are responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Game, its service providers, or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
